This past week Sunlight Mountain Resort honored 15-year employee Chris McCullough for his dedicated service. McCullough, 34, first started working in Sunlight's food and beverage department during the 2001-02 season after graduating from Glenwood Springs High School.
"We're honored by Chris' dedicated service to Sunlight," said GM Tom Jankovsky. "Our guests and employees alike often comment on what a fun person Chris is, he has a great sense of humor and is a pleasure to work with."
McCullough found employment through Glenwood's Mountain Valley Developmental Services (MVDS). The organization was founded in 1973 by a group of local parents and volunteers and was incorporated as a non-profit agency in 1975. MVDS has since become an organization which provides a comprehensive array of services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. MVDS has been designated by Colorado Department of Health and Human Services as the Community Centered Board responsible for Eagle, Garfield, Lake and Pitkin Counties.
McCullough was born with Fragile X Syndrome, a genetic condition that causes a range of developmental problems including learning disabilities and cognitive impairment.
"He was so thrilled to be recognized for his work, Sunlight has been a very good fit for him," said Chris' mother Renee McCullough. "Through the years, Chris' co-workers have been great about keeping him involved and part of the team."
The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association was named 2013 Chamber of the Year by ACCE!
