Local economic study by the Sonoran Institute, Grand Avenue Bridge update by CDOT and reports from City, County, Valley View Hospital and Colorado Mountain College highlight annual Chamber Economic Forecast event on Jan. 22.
The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association presents its annual Economic Forecast Forum, sponsored by Bank of Colorado, on Thursday morning, January 22 from 7 to 9:30 a.m. in The Hotel Denver’s Loft meeting space.
Clark Anderson, Rocky Mountain Program Director of the Sonoran Institute, will present the keynote address: “What is Our Place Value?” by revealing the results of a recent economic survey conducted by the chamber and Sonoran Institute. Attendees will learn what attracts businesses, entrepreneurs and employees to our region as well as the key factors they consider when relocating.
Anderson will be followed by Garfield County Manager Andrew Gorgey and City Manager Jeff Hecksel who will respectively present the “State of the County” and “State of the City.” In addition, 2015 plans will be presented by Colorado Mountain College Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Matt Gianneschi and Valley View Hospital Chief Financial Officer, Larry Dupper.
Finally, attendees will hear about how aesthetics are coming together to enhance the new Grand Avenue Bridge. Bridge construction schedules and related topics will be discussed by Joe Elson, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Program Engineer and Tracy Trulove, CDOT Public Relations Manager.
