Every community has skeletons in their closet. We just bring ours out once a week for a good old-fashioned airing out. Robbers, reprobates and the red light district are a few of the subjects of the Hidden History Tour of downtown Glenwood Springs. Every Friday evening throughout the summer, let us take you on an excursion which regales you with tales of bank robberies, jail escapes, prohibition, illegal gambling, gangsters, soiled doves and even a murder or two! You might think twice about bringing young children, due to some of the subject matter.
Running from Memorial Day through Labor Day; the Hidden History Tour ambles through the downtown core with a vintage tour guide leading the way. Tours are $15 per person, payable with cash, Visa or MasterCard. Meet at 6:45 in front of the Visitor’s Center at 802 Grand Avenue. Payment can be taken then or call ahead for reservations at (970) 945-4448.
The tour takes about an hour and a half, so plan to visit one of our many downtown eating establishments either before or after your tour. What a great way to end an exciting day in Glenwood Springs!
