DECA Invitational is Monday, October 5th
Please volunteer if you are interested in giving back to students from across the state.
The Glenwood DECA Invitational is an event that has been put on by the DECA program at GSHS since 1983. This event brings hundreds of students from across the state to the beautiful city of Glenwood Springs each October. As you may know, Bryan Whiting retired from teaching last year after nearly 40 years in education. Thus, the torch for such a program had to be passed on.
My name is Taylor Parsons and I am the new DECA Teacher at Glenwood Springs High School. As an alumnus of GSHS and the DECA program, I realize the importance of the Glenwood DECA Invitational as it pertains to students and our community. I intend to carry on the great tradition that is the Glenwood Springs High School DECA program. Given your past involvement with this worthwhile endeavor, I am hoping you can join me to make this year’s invitational the best yet.
The invitational this year will be held on October 4th and 5th, which is the firstSunday and Monday of the month. We need judges for the competition on Monday October 5th, and hope you can join us. I realize we are asking you to take time out of your business day, but I wouldn’t ask this of you if this event were not of such vital importance to our high school, DECA program, and community. Please consider donating your time for this critical opportunity to encourage students to better themselves and establish a foundation for their future career.
Attached to this email is the judge’s confirmation form. Please email the form back to me with your availability to judge this year so I can mark you off my list. Finally, I would appreciate it if you mentioned this to friends and co-workers who may be interested even if they have never judged before.
I look forward to meeting you in person this October.
