Tourism partners in the activities and attractions industry meet to share information and develop business for the individual tourist and group business.
Ambassadors are the "public relations arm" of the chamber and easily recognized in their red blazers. They promote chamber programs, conduct ribbon-cutting ceremonies, help host special events and Business After Hours mixers and host the Ambassador’s Corner on Cable Channel 12.
An ad hoc committee of the chamber, has been in existence for over two decades. This concerned group of citizens and business owners has crafted and passed tax initiatives to build a community center and City Hall, a new raw water treatment plant, the local Ride Glenwood bus system, create the tourism promotion fund and allow for infrastructure and amenities like street lamps, bike trails, street maintenance and downtown beautification.
The board develops the overall marketing plan and oversees the budget, working with the Vice President of Tourism Marketing and with regular reports to City Council. Board members also act as ambassadors of the tourism community. While members are appointed to the board, attendance is open to anyone interested.
Business representatives, Pinnacol insurance providers and Pinnacol Assurance representatives meet quarterly to examine the Glenwood chamber safety groups’ workplace accidents, to plan seminars and develop methods to encourage loss prevention.
