Eye on the Economy

Eye on the Economy

Participants will have the opportunity to question an attorney about medical marijuana in the workplace at the next Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association free “Eye on the Economy” seminar.

Attorneys Daniel C. Wennogle of Balcomb & Green, P.C. and Don J. Kaufman will present on Thursday, March 18 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, 100 Wulfsohn Road. The panel discussion was created due to an overwhelming response from attendees of the chamber’s February 23 Medical Marijuana in the Workplace seminar.

Kaufman specializes in workers’ comp cases and represents the plaintiff or injured worker, while Wennogle specializes in civil litigation and commercial law, typically advising and representing businesses, employers and landowners.

With medical marijuana use becoming increasingly prevalent, employers need to know what the law does and does not say regarding medical marijuana use by employees. The goal is to help employers and landlords learn where and how the issues surrounding medical marijuana use by employees might impact their practices and expose them to potential liability.

Attendees will have the opportunity to formulate and submit questions prior to attending the discussion. Questions asked at the seminar will be reviewed and must be in compliance or will not be addressed.

The discussion is part of the chamber’s quarterly “Eye on the Economy” series sponsored by the Glenwood Springs Community Broadband Network and Colorado Mountain College. The public is invited, and the event is FREE for Glenwood Springs chamber members and their guests (only $10 for non-members), with bagels provided by Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse and Delicatessen. Seating is limited. Please register by at glenwoodchamber.com/seminars or by calling the chamber at 970.945.6589. Questions for the discussion may be emailed in advance to joni@glenwoodchamber.com.
