Kayaking
The stretch of Colorado River through Glenwood Canyon is one of the finest in the state with Class III and IV rapids, and calmer stretches with incredible canyon scenery. If you want to explore the river and play in the waves, bring or rent a kayak locally.
Glenwood Springs, Colorado has long been a rafting and kayaking destination and community, located at the confluence of the Colorado and Roaring Fork Rivers. We are home to the new Glenwood Whitewater Park, a world class wave feature built in the Colorado River at the Midland Avenue Bridge. It was completed in the Spring of 2008 and Glenwood Springs was proud to host the US Freestyle Kayaking Team Trials in May, 2009.
