In the winter, Glenwood Springs is a hub for snow related activities and is located just 45 minutes from Aspen, Colorado and an hour from Vail, Colorado.  You can stay at the Cedar Lodge and ski Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk (home of the Winter X-Games) and Snowmass.  If you choose to head east of Glenwood Springs, you can ski Beaver Creek or Vail.  Glenwood Springs’ local ski area, Sunlight Mountain Resort is perfect for families and those looking for a budget oriented ski vacation.
